I was visiting the cemetery last weekend, and had to dig up 3 headstones, they were very old, but buried because apparently they had broken off due to being on a hill. Whomever mows that grass should not mow over headstones. There was very little of the headstone showing, it was by accident that I even saw them. I noticed quite a few more that were most likely buried, but did not have the time nor tools to fix them. I dont know who takes care of this cemetery, but they are doing a poor job of it. I have a death certificate of an ancestor, it states she is buried in colesburg, I am assuming at this cemetery, seeing as other family are buried there. her name is Verdia Portman, and she died in 1917, but was unable to locate her in the cemetery, I am hoping her headstone has not been buried due to neglect.
